Jair’s Story

I have loved the game of basketball all of my life. From my early days on the courts of Brooklyn, New York to playing as a graduate student athlete at Butler University, I have always felt blessed. My family, the resources available to me, all of it allowed me to freely chase my dreams of playing Division 1 basketball. My mother is from Zimbabwe. My father is from Brooklyn. I realized early on that not everyone is as fortunate as I have been and that given different circumstances, I would not be where I am today. That’s why I have made it my goal to help others through this game that I love. As a 1,000- point scorer in the Big East conference, I have been surrounded by great coaches, teammates, and facilities my entire career. I know that now is the time to pay it forward and use my platform to help others realize their dreams.
